Fermanagh People Protest Against Fracking

The people of Fermanagh staged a protest yesterday after plans to drill a borehole near Belco were announced.

Sinn Féin MP Michelle Gildernew also attended the protest and said the party is opposed to any form of fracking.

She said: "There is widespread opposition to fracking in Fermanagh and right across Ireland.

"Farmers in Fermanagh have already signed a pledge that they will not allow fracking on their land.

"Planning permission for any drilling operation rests with the Department of the Environment."
