Sinn Féin is calling on the owner of a site in an unfinished housing estate in Cushendun to take responsibility after it emerged the residents are living in intolerable conditions.
Oliver McMullun, MLA, said the residents in the Craigagh View area are living in an estate with no street lights, no footpaths and the road has not been finished.
The developer went into liquidation six years ago.
He said: "As a result, parents cannot let their children out to play as the area has essentially been an open air building site for the last six years, except no work is taking place.
"The site has been owned by the bank after the developer went into liquidation and the residents have been unable to contact anyone who can take any responsibility.
"These are families who are paying rates but are not receiving the benefits as the site has not been adopted and have been left virtual prisoners in their own homes. That is an intolerable situation."
