An international meat and cheese product manufacturer has signed a deal with Energia to continue to 'green' its operations in Ireland.
Feldhues plant, based in Clones, Co Monaghan, has renewed a deal with the energy firm to provide 1.7 GWhrs of 100% renewable 'green' energy.
The plant serves the UK, German and Irish markets.
The renewable energy will be generated from Energia's Operational Windfarm Portfolio, which combines power from Energia's windfarms and power from third party windfarms contracted to Energia under power purchase agreements. The portfolio currently supplies over 680MWs of green power.
This portfolio will be increased by a further 300 MWs of 'green' power by a number of wind farm facilities that are currently in development. As an accredited member of the Bord Bia Origin Green program, Feldhues is committed to delivering greener processes through all their activities.
