Funding has been approved to build two new classrooms at St Mary's National School in Knockcroghery.
A central activities room and a learning support room is to be constructed after the allocation was sanctioned by the School Building Unit at the Department of Education.
Fine Gael candidate in the Roscommon/South Leitrim bye-election, Maura Hopkins, said: "I'm very pleased that funding has been approved for the construction of a central activities room and a learning support room. This is very welcome news for the school and the local community."
