A former unused development site has been transformed into a green temporary garden in Dublin.
Lord Mayor, Christy Burke, will officially open Mary's Abbey Community Garden located just off Capel Street tomorrow, Saturday 18th October.
Work has progressed well and the garden has been planted with some mature trees, a wildlife area, a raised bed and trellised area for creepers, and a wild flower area.
The Lord Mayor said: "I want to thank everyone who has worked in this garden over the past few months and I congratulate them on their achievement. I have no doubt that the local community will benefit from this space and I hope that everyone will enjoy the garden and take ownership of it to allow it to flourish."
The garden space has been facilitated on a temporary licence by NAMA and the receivers, with support from Dublin City Council.
