Work has started today, 10 November, to build a new footpath at Quin Bridge, Co Clare.
The work by Clare County Council is on the R469 Regional Road in Quin Village. It is expected to last four weeks.
The new footpath will be constructed adjacent to the northern bridge parapet (Abbey side of bridge) and the project will also involve works to facilitate the placing of utility services underground and the provision of a pedestrian guardrail on top of the northern parapet and approach walls. On completion of the works, the existing one-way and yield system for vehicular and cycling traffic on the bridge will be formalised and the existing temporary plastic barriers removed.
