Sinn Féin is calling on all parties to support a fracking ban in Ireland.
Deputy Michael Colreavy said fracking is an issue of real concern to the people of the North-West.
He said: "Fracking is an unsafe means of extracting shale gas that could potentially have a serious impact on people's health, the environment and the agricultural industry.
"The government parties must now join in the calls to see fracking banned on the island of Ireland.
"Recent developments in the six counties have seen the licence for fracking in Fermanagh being removed. Similar moves must take place in the 26 counties, and this can only happen with the support of Fine Gael and Labour."
