Electricity supplier, ESB, has demonstrated ocean energy technology to school children in County Clare, during a visit to five schools in Doonbeg.
The firm also discussed its Westwave project with pupils, an energy project which aims to be the first wave farm in the world to generate renewable electricity.
It is due to start construction in 2016 and produce power in 2018.
Aodán McDonagh, Project Engineer, ESB Westwave, said: "By using a wave machine we were able to engage with the children and give them a better understanding of how ocean energy works. The visits also help develop interest in the Science, Technology and Maths subjects."
