A Minor Works Grant, which includes improvements to school buildings and grounds, has been announced by the Minister for Education and Skills.

Jan O'Sullivan declared €28m in funding to focus on improving the physical infrastructure of schools and investment in equipment and furniture.

"The Minor Works Grant is an important funding injection for primary schools and I am pleased to be able to provide the funding this year. I know the funding is put to very effective use by schools," said Minister O'Sullivan.
