Road Service engineers have completed repair work to street lights in L'Derry.
The defective street lights surrounded the Whitehouse Park area in Foyleside.
SDLP Cllr John Boyle said he is pleased that the issue has been dealt with.
Mr Boyle said: "The problem had been a lot worse than a few broken bulbs and required repair to underground cables. Roads Minister Danny Kennedy had indicated some time back that there would be no money available to carry out this kind of repair work and as a result people throughout the city have literally been living in the dark. An entire cull de sac in Whitehouse Park was without street lights for nearly two months. It is encouraging to see that the utility company are now back on the streets and dealing with these long term issues. I am hopeful that this trend will continue, now that the Roads Minister, with the support of the SDLP, has more money in his budget for repairs."
