Transport NI To Maintain Roads At Mounteagles

Transport NI has confirmed it is to maintain the roads at Mounteagles in Belfast, after the developer abandoned the project following bankruptcy.

Residents in the area have been left with unfinished roads and resurfacing is expected to be completed by the end of April.


SDLP Belfast Councillor Brian Heading welcomed the announcement, however he said it raises serious questions as to why Transport NI failed to help the residents of Monteagles sooner.

He said: "There is a lesson to be learned here. Transport NI cannot allow bureaucracy to hinder their primary function and they must respond positively and efficiently to situations such as these."
