Eco-Schools Programme Celebrates 20th Anniversary

The Eco-Schools Programme has held an event to mark its 20th anniversary.

The event, at Meadowban Arena in Magherafelt, was attended by the Environment Minister, Mark H Durkan, who challenged every school to become a Green Flag school.

The Minister said: "It is wonderful to see so many of our young people and their teachers here today celebrating the fantastic work they are doing to help our environment.

"This 20th anniversary event is an excellent showcase for the Eco-Schools programme and I am delighted to have had the privilege of both supporting and taking part in the event.

"I would like to acknowledge the dedication and commitment shown by both staff and pupils throughout the North over the last 20 years of the Eco-Schools programme."
