Fianna Fáil has said the party's latest policy paper on energy provides an excellent platform to discuss Ireland's current position.
Deputy Michael Moynihan commented: "Ireland is still excessively dependent on energy importation to power our homes and businesses. This is a precarious position that we find ourselves in given the changing energy environment globally.
"Moving towards a carbon neutral environment is a long-term goal that must be targeted to ensure future generations will be in a position to be energy self-sufficient."
