The owner of a skip hire firm has been fined £400 for a number of waste offences.
Stephen Moran, from Grange Lane in Mallusk, pleaded guilty to waste offences under the Waste and Contaminated Land (Northern Ireland) Order 1997.
He was fined £50 on each of the eight charges, £34 costs and a £15 offenders' levy.
Following a complaint, officers from the Northern Ireland Environment Agency carried out an inspection of A2B Skips on the Seven Mile Straight in January 2014. They found skips containing mixed waste on the site, despite the fact that the site was not covered by a waste management licence.
During a follow-up visit in August 2014, further waste was found on site.
By November 2014, officers confirmed that Mr Moran had acted on the Notice previously served on him and cleared the waste from the site. He has since obtained a waste management licence for the site.
