Irish Govt And Executive Continue To Support A5 Upgrade

The Irish Government and the Executive remains committed to the upgrade of the A5 Western Transport Corridor, the Transport Minister has confirmed.

Sinn Féin MLA Declan McAleer said Minister Danny Kennedy also intends to circulate a paper to his Executive colleagues on the A5 in the coming weeks.

Mr McAleer said: "This is great news and will be welcomed by the vast majority of people who want to see progress on this project.

"I also raised the economic benefits of the A5 with the then Enterprise Minister, Arlene Foster, and she said she had recently met with members of the business community in Omagh and Strabane, including McColgan's, who said the A5 upgrade would greatly assist their business."
