A 5,000-year-old burial cairn on Slieve Gullion in south Armagh has been repaired.
Volunteers and archeologists carried out the repair work over the weekend.
Sinn Féin MLA Megan Fearon said it is one of the great archaeological treasures of Ireland.
She said: "Unfortunately in recent years it had been damaged as a result of exposure to the elements and accidental damage caused by hill walkers.
"On Sunday volunteers joined archaeologists to climb Slieve Gullion to work to repair the burial cairn.
"The Ring of Gullion Landscape Project must be praised for their excellent work in getting this important site repaired and the way in which they involved the local community."
