Development plans to extend Primate Dixon nursery school in Coalisland have been approved.

SDLP Mid-Ulster MLA Patsy McGlone welcomed the decision.

He said: "I'm delighted that the Department of Education has approved the development proposal submitted by Primate Dixon for additional Nursery places. This decision will ease a lot of stress on parents in Coalisland who otherwise would have had to find alternative facilities further away for their children.

"Primate Dixon provides an excellent beginning to a child’s educational journey and it’s fantastic news that more will be able to avail of that great start. I’ve visited the school and seen first hand the excellent care and support they offer. I want to congratulate the staff and the entire school community on this well deserved expansion."
