NIHE Acting Chief Executive To Resign

The Acting Chief Executive of the Northern Ireland Housing Executive (NIHE) has announced her resignation.

Mags Lightbody joined the Housing Executive as a Director in October 2013 and has been acting Chief Executive from April 2014.

She said: "I have immensely enjoyed my time with the Housing Executive and especially the last year as Acting Chief Executive. It has been an honour to serve here and to lead this organisation out of difficult times. The Housing Executive is now back proudly delivering and ready and able for change.

"My intention was always to serve in a transition role to embed transformational change. The changes I have witnessed across the organisation in my time here particularly as Acting Chief Executive have been remarkable.

"This has been encapsulated by the excellent end of year performance and by our successes with the IIP silver award and recent visit by the Customer Services Excellence inspection team. The positive words of encouragement and support which I have received from political representatives, partner organisations and customers is a credit to all staff.

"As the Housing Executive enters the next stage of change, I feel the time is right to move onto to my next challenge, allowing the Board to recruit to a more lasting Chief Executive arrangement that will see the organistion through its next stages of renewal."
