Buildings connected with the 1916 Easter Rising on Moore Street in Dublin are to be added to the list of protected structures.
Dublin City Councillors approved the move during a recent meeting.
Sinn Féin Dublin City Councillor Mícheál Mac Donncha said: "This is a further step to protect Moore Street. It shows yet again that there needs to be a new plan. The proposed shopping mall which would see most of Moore Street demolished is totally discredited."
