The SDLP has said the committee hearing on the sale of the Northern Ireland NAMA property portfolio should not be hindered in any way.
MLA for Newry and Armagh, and Deputy Chair of Finance Committee Dominic Bradley said that the committee should fulfil its remit in relation to holding the Department of Finance to account in all its relevant functions in this case without curtailment.
He said: "It is very important from the point of view of public confidence that the committee exercises its responsibilities in relation to holding the Department of Finance to account across the relevant areas of its remit in relation to this issue.
"It is of the essence that the committee works within terms of reference which reflect its responsibilities and that it does all in its power to ensure that its hearings around the NAMA portfolio issue are robust and do not run the risk of prejudicing any future legal action."
