Sinn Féin has raised concerns after Dublin City Council approved planning permission for a hotel to be developed on Moore Land and Moore Street.
Dublin City Councillor Mícheál Mac Donncha, said it does not take into account the historic nature of the site.
Cllr Mac Donncha said: "No independent battlefield site assessment of this area has taken place as recommended by the Moore Street Advisory Committee of Dublin City Council.
"The National Monument 14-17 Moore Street stands on a site around which, under existing planning permissions, all buildings could be levelled, including historic buildings linked to the Rising.
"The sale of this Chartered Land property portfolio by NAMA adds further uncertainty.
"At its most recent meeting Dublin City Council unanimously called on Heritage Minister Heather Humphreys to intervene.
"What is needed is a new plan for the entire area bounded by Henry Street, O'Connell Street, Parnell Street and Moore Street. Such a plan would respect the 1916 Battlefield site, sensitively develop it as an historic quarter of the city and enhance its retail market and street trading role."
