Improvement Project To Start On M2 Foreshore Motorway In Belfast

A £400,000 improvement project on the M2 Foreshore Motorway in Belfast is to begin on Thursday 30 July.

Work on the resurfacing scheme is expected to be complete by Monday 10 August.

The planned work will take place on the M2 northbound carriageway from the junction at York Street to the junction with Fortwilliam Roundabout.

Preliminary works will begin on the evenings of Thursday 30 July and Friday 31 July when overnight lane closures will be in operation on M3 westbound and M2 northbound.

On Saturday 1 August from 8pm until 6am on Monday 3 August, approaching from Sydenham, the M3 northbound and three lanes on the M2 northbound will be closed. Clearly signposted diversion will be in place via Great George Street and York Street. During the closure Middlepath Street on-slip will also be closed with the diversion route via Bridge End Flyover, Middlepath Street, Bridge End, Ann Street, Victoria Street, Dunbar Link, Great Patrick Street, and York Street.

On Saturday 8 August from 8pm on until 6am on Monday 10 August approaching from Westlink, three lanes on M2 northbound will be closed. During this period the diversion route will be via York Street, York Road, and Shore Road.
