Sinn Féin has welcomed the decision to address legacy-planning applications in Northern Ireland.
Chairperson of the Belfast City Council Planning Committee Matt Garrett made the decision.
Councillor Garret said: "There were over 800 outstanding planning applications transferred to Belfast City Council when the new powers for local administration came into effect which has now been reduced to 450.
"It is important for the development of the city that we get planning right and dealing with the legacy planning applications will allow us to begin with a clean slate and develop the city in the proper manner."
