Transport NI has been called to take "urgent action" to address flooding on the Boa Island Road in Fermanagh.
SDLP Fermanagh Councillor John Coyle said it has become a serious hazard for local people and motorists.
Mr Coyle said: "Only last week I was contacted by one lady who had to abandon her car at the roadside and make her way through knee-high water to get through the area after significant rain.
"This is not a new problem but the flooding is posing serious risks to public safety and has made the road inaccessible at times. This is especially dangerous when emergency services need access to the road to get to the South West Acute Hospital.
"I have raised the issue with Transport NI who have committed to looking into the matter but this must become a priority for the local division. We cannot continue to leave the road in the current state."
