Public consultations seeking views on whether the Government should broaden the range of renewable energy technologies that receive financial support from Ireland until September this year have been extended.

One consultation focuses on technologies that can deliver renewable electricity, while the other focuses on renewable heat systems.

The extension had been granted at the request of a number of key stakeholders and will help ensure that citizens, industry and other stakeholders have the opportunity to submit their views before the programme moves to the design options phase later this year.
