Fianna Fáil TD is urgently calling on Irish Water to carry out a full assessment of the pipe network in Ballina, Co Mayo.
Cllr Dara Calleary made the call following a number of major bursts in the town in recent days and months.
Deputy Calleary commented: "There is obviously a major problem with the pipe network in Ballina, which resulted in two significant bursts in the town centre. A number of premises were flooded and homes in the town were left without a water supply while the problem was being fixed. This is an unprecedented level of disruption and needs to be addressed without delay."
