€10m Distillery Plans Submitted

Powerscourt Distillery is to lodge a planning application to develop a new distillery facility and visitors centre.

The €10m investment is to create 30 jobs during the construction phase of the project at the Powerscourt Estate in Co Wicklow.

Plans include to refurbish the Estate's old mill house into a distillery centre.

Local entrepreneurs Gerry Ginty and Ashley Gardiner are co-founders of the new venture.

Sarah Slazenger, Managing Director of Powerscourt Estate, said: "Powerscourt Distillery is an exciting new venture that will help attract more visitors to Powerscourt who are interested in seeing authentic Irish craft excellence brought to life."
