A recycling firm has been fined for breaches of waste management legislation at Newtownards Magistrates' Court.
Wright Recycling Limited was fined £6,000 and the company director, Mr David Wright was also fined a total of £3,000 for the same offences.
The Company with a registered office at Movilla Road, Newtownards, pleaded guilty to three charges relating to deposit and keeping of controlled waste without the appropriate authorisation.
Landowner, Mr Leslie Wright was given a conditional discharge for 12 months for permitting waste to be deposited on his land.
Between April and December 2013, officers from the Northern Ireland Environment Agency investigated a site at 124 Movilla Road, Newtownards and found that controlled waste had been deposited and was being kept on land without a waste management licence.
