A new foreshore licence to allow dredging works at Fenit Harbour in Tralee has been signed.
The Minister of State at the Department of the Environment, Paudie Coffey, signed the licence on Tuesday, 20 October.
Fine Gael TD for Kerry and Minister of State, Jimmy Deenihan, welcomed the signing and said the dredging work will facilitate the users of the port.
He said: "I have been working on this for some time and I am delighted that Minister Coffey has signed the foreshore licence.
"Fenit Harbour is essential to economic activity in Kerry and a great many local jobs depend on proper maintenance of the harbour."
