Building Begins On Nursing Unit Extension

O'Brien Construction has started phase one of the new building development at Raheen Community Nursing Unit in Co Clare.

Designed by DK Architects, the first phase of the development forms part of an overall plan to upgrade resident accommodation at the Community Nursing Unit. The project includes the construction of a new extension that will provide seven new bedrooms all with ensuite facilities. A number of ancillary rooms will be included in the development and will comprise of a living room, visitors' room and an upgraded plant room as well as associated site works. Refurbishment works, which are planned for later in the construction programme, will result in a new nurses' station and garden room.

A total of €1.6 million has been allocated to the project and it is anticipated that phase one will be completed by June 2016.
