Moore Street Plan Does Not Protect The Entire Terrace - SF

Sinn Féin has said the Minister for Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht Moore Street plan does not protect the entire historic terrace and the 'lanes of history'.

The Government has confirmed that 14-17 Moore Street in Dublin is to be restored, however the party said the planning permission which would allow the entire terrace to be demolished is still in place.

Councillor Mícheál Mac Donncha said: "If proceeded with by the developer, this would see the area engulfed in a giant shopping mall that no-one wants.

"There are also question marks over the work being proposed for 14-17. Is this the same plan previously put forward by Chartered Land?

"The Moore Street Advisory Committee and City Councillors generally have received no information on this. We will reserve judgement until we receive more information."
