Four community and voluntary organisations in Limerick have scooped fund of €42,000 from Irish energy firm ESB.
The funding is part of the 'Energy for Generations' community fund which supports the work of not-for-profit organisations, charities and community and voluntary organisations whose work falls under the following areas: educational access and support; suicide prevention; and care of the homeless.
The organisations awarded the funding include:
• Mid West Simon
• Limerick Marine Search and Rescue
• Limerick City Build
• Northside Family Resource Centre
Pat Naughton, Executive Director of Group People & Sustainability said: "We are delighted to be able to support the great work of these four organisations through ESB's Corporate Social Responsibility programme and our Energy for Generations Fund. The cheque presentation is an opportunity for us to highlight the great work taking place in Limerick and the mid-west region to tackle homelessness, prevent suicide and provide education and training services.
"Our employees choose the focus of our programme and Mid West Simon, Limerick Marine Search and Rescue, Limerick City Build and the Northside Family Resource Centre are all addressing critical issues in Limerick and the mid-west region. ESB is proud to be able to ensure that the organisations can continue to provide their much needed services to local Limerick communities."
