Dublin City Council has demanded a "substantial redesign" of a proposed 1,000 bedroom student housing development in the docklands.
The council has said that it has "serious concerns" over the development, and has given Nama-appointed receivers William O'Riordan and Declan McDonald of Pricewaterhouse Coopers six months to redesign the development.
The council said that its concerns include:
• the facades of the complex.
• the amount and quality of open space provided.
• the nature, quality and design of the internal living accommodation .
Last September Wintertide Ltd applied for permission for the 970-bed student development under the council's fast-track planning scheme for the Docklands, which included two seven storey buildings for apartments of three to eight bedrooms, along with studios to accommodate 15% of students.
