The Government is being urged to support Sinn Féin's legislation on rent certainty and the prevention of homelessness.
Sinn Féin President Gerry Adams confirmed it will be debated in the Dáil on Tuesday during private members time.
Deputy Adams is also calling on the government to introduce measures to prevent homelessness.
Deputy Adams said: "Sinn Féin has brought forward the Rent Certainty and Prevention of Homelessness Bill which will be debated in the Dáil during our private members time this evening.
"It will be the last opportunity for the Government to do something positive and constructive to help those who are homeless and those who are at risk of homelessness.
"The Sinn Féin Bill seeks to introduce rent certainty by linking rents to the rate of inflation and to limit rent increases over a period of time.
"It also seeks to update the definition of homelessness and to put an onus on local authorities to work to prevent families from losing their homes."
