New Nursery Unit Opens In Co Tyrone

A new nursery unit developed under the minor works scheme has officially opened in Cookstown, Co Tyrone.

The unit at Phoenix Integrated Primary School cost around £330,000 to build.

Minor works are also continuing at the primary school including the creation of new classrooms, an entrance area and other associated works.


Education Minister John O'Dowd visited the school and said: "I was last here two years ago and I am delighted to return to see at first hand the impressive transformation that has occurred with a capital investment of over £800,000. This has made such a difference to the overall fabric of the learning environment here in Phoenix.

"This purpose built, inviting space will give many children in the Cookstown area their first taste of education and set them up for many happy school-days ahead."
