Further flooding is to be expected along the banks of the Lower River Shannon in the Springfield area of Clonlara in southeast Clare.
Energy firm ESB is increasing the release of water from the Parteen Weir from 315 cubic meters per second to 375 cumecs.
Area staff at Clare County Council have been assisting vulnerable residents in the provision of sandbags and are continuing to review the requirements.
Limerick City and County Council said it is expecting flooding in Castleconnell, Montpelier and the Mountshannon Road (Lisnagry).
Both Councils are warning that floodwaters are likely to increase further during the next two days and that they are continuing to liaise with the ESB, An Garda Síochána and local property owners in the affected areas.
