An Ulster Unionist MLA has visited a number of areas in Counties Tyrone and Fermanagh affected by flooding.
Mr Tom Elliott has raised questions over the levels of flooding and is asking if any of the incidents could have been prevented.
Mr Elliott said: "These businesses have been gearing up for the busiest few weeks of the year, now they have to cope with massive stock losses of up to £100,000 for individual businesses along with the loss in trade. It is a very demoralising situation for some of those who have invested a lot of their own money and time into their business and the community, however I trust their resolve will carry them through this particular time.
"I understand that the agencies reacted very well on the ground following the flooding. The questions are now being asked if any of these flooding incidents could have been prevented. There had been warnings of the potential for severe flooding over the weekend. We now need to know if all preventative action that could have been taken, was taken."
