Tories Accused Of Having Complete 'Lack Of Regard' For Environment

Sinn Féin has accused the Tories of having a complete lack of regard for the environment after MPs voted to allow fracking under national parks and world heritage sites.

MLA Oliver McMullan said Sinn Féin also said the Tories have a total disregard for the welfare of communities as evidenced by their austerity policies.


Mr McMullan said: "We have made it clear that fracking will not be accepted in the Glens or any part of the island.

"Our representatives have opposed fracking in the Assembly, in the Dáil and in the European Parliament and will continue to do so.

"As British MPs vote to allowing fracking under national parks and world heritage sites it is important that we send out a clear and united message that this controversial method will not be used in Ireland."
