Call For Houses To Be Developed On Site Of PSNI Station In Co Antrim

Sinn Féin is calling for houses to be developed on the site of a PSNI station in Cushendall, Co Antrim.

The party made the call after the PSNI's Causeway Coast and Glens district commander John Magill confirmed the station is to close down.

Sinn Féin MLA Oliver McMullan said the site would be the "ideal location" for social houses or small business units in the area.


Mr McMullan said: "The closure of the police station provides a unique opportunity to build social housing to help tackle the housing situation in the area.

"It could also be used for business units to give people in the local area an opportunity to start up a business and grow the local economy."

Mr McMullan is to meet with the PSNI and housing associations to discuss the potential the site offers.
