The Environment Minister has been accused of "deliberately withholding" the most recent data on homeless levels in Dublin.
Fianna Fáil candidate for Dublin North-West Cllr Paul McAuliffe also said Minister Alan Kelly belatedly released figures for November and December, which he clearly wanted to conceal during the election.
Mr McAuliffe said: "Why is there a delay in publishing the most recent figures? According to the Simon Community's Election 2016 report the number of people in emergency accommodation increased by 40% when compared to 2014. The number of families increased by 90% and the number of children increased by 84%.
"The Simon Community's report also points out that the latest figures have not been released by the Dept of the Environment.
"The truth about the very serious crisis being faced by thousands of families needs to be highlighted."
