A boil water notice remains in place for Irish Water customers living in parts of Co Galway.
The firm is currently carrying out work at the Leitir Móir/Tír an Fhia water treatment plant which includes modification of the existing water treatment plant and increased controls in the treatment process and will be carried out the coming months.
The work involved the temporary shut down of part of the treatment process at the plant. When the section of the plant was taken off line, it was identified that additional necessary work was required to be carried out. It was expected that the work would be completed, however adverse weather conditions over recent days impacted on the timeframe. It is expected that the work involving the temporary shut down of part of the treatment plant will now be completed by Friday, 11 March.
