A membership of an expert panel to look into problems in the concrete blockwork of certain dwellings in Donegal and Mayo has been set up.
Minister of State at the Department of Environment, Mr Paudie Coffey, has appointed Dr Denis McCarthy to chair the expert panel.
Mr Coffey said: "My Department wrote to the National Standards Authority of Ireland, Engineers Ireland and the Institute of Geologists of Ireland seeking nominations for suitable persons to participate on, and contribute to, the work of the expert panel. Over the course of the past few weeks, nominations have been received from all three organisations; the expert panel is now in place and will be in a position to commence its investigations shortly."
