Two homeless men have locked themselves into Wicklow County Council offices, claiming they have nowhere else to go.
The Council have locked all of the windows, turned the heating up and are stopping food getting into the building in an attempt to get them to leave.
The Housing Minister is being urged to intervene in what has been described as a "scandalous situation" by Sinn Féin.
TD John Brady said: "In December 2014 the then minister for the Environment Alan Kelly stated that by Christmas 2014 there would no reason for anybody to sleep rough and that anyone who wanted a bed will get one.
"The windows have now been locked to stop food getting to the two men. There is effectively an attempt to starve the men back onto the streets; there is no bed for them or for many more.
"Can I ask the New Minister to personally intervene in this scandalous situation?"
