Sinn Féin is to hold an Oireachtas briefing to discuss the importance of the Narrow Water Bridge project.
The briefing is to be held in the Dáil this evening, 25 May.
Leader of the party, Gerry Adams, who hosted a meeting with the Narrow Water Bridge Committee in Leinster House, said: "The Taoiseach confirmed that officials have been regularly meeting to discuss the viability of the Narrow Water Bridge.
"Officials met last December and again in the new year, including in April in Newry.
"The issue will now be discussed at the North-South ministerial council meeting on 10 June in Dublin.
"I welcome the Taoiseach's commitment to the Narrow Water Bridge concept but if the concept is to be turned into a reality then the government needs to agree to invest the necessary funding."
Sinn Féin MLA Caitríona Ruane said: "The Sinn Féin teams in the Assembly, Dáil and European Parliament will continue to make the Narrow Water Bridge a top priority.
"The economic and tourism potential for North Louth and South Down cannot missed.
"Sinn Féin ensured the Narrow Water Bridge was in the Fresh Start Agreement and we are determined to see it built."
