The Minister for Transport has been slammed for his lack of support over plans to extend a the runway at Waterford Regional Airport.
Fianna Fáil TD, Mary Butler, said Minister Shane Ross is continuing to demonstrate an "ambiguous position" of any support for the project.
She said: "I believe that with strategic vision and government supports there are huge opportunities for tourism and regional development in the South East.
"Waterford Regional Airport has great potential to generate new business in partnership with the relevant regional, tourism and industry bodies in the South East. The proposed runway extension could significantly expand the connectivity of the whole South East region and could serve as a 'gateway' to the Ireland's Ancient East.
"There was a distinct lack of clarity in the Minister's response to the questions I posed on the expansion of Waterford airport. I am disappointed to learn that there is no definitive strategy in place to proceed with the expansion."
