Site investigation work is to begin at Tolka Valley in Dublin to help prevent uncontrolled overflows to the River Tolka and flooding in Mulhuddart.
Irish Water appointed Causeway Geotech Limited to carry out the work which is to begin on Monday, 27, June, and is expected to take around six weeks to complete.
The work will inform the design, construction methods and contribute to the environmental reports for the project. Local access will remain open at all times.
Irish Water will invest over €30 million in the project to construct, 3.2km of pipeline, construction of underground storage tanks to increase capacity in the network and a new pumping station and a control building.
The works will involve trial hole excavations, borehole drilling and geophysical mapping. A resident ecologist will be present on site during the work.
