A 'zero carbon' Choice Housing scheme in south Belfast has been nominated for a Green Apple Environment Award.
Killynure Green in Carryduff has been named on a shortlist of the UK's most environmentally friendly developments.
The annual awards, which will take place in August, recognise, reward and promote environmental best practice.
The 40-unit social housing development utilises a range of renewable technologies that recycles water and solar power and helps tenants reduce energy usage.
Michael McDonnell, Chief Executive of Choice said: "It's hugely rewarding to be recognised by peers and experts who understand exceptional quality and the challenges of achieving excellence. Killynure Green is a unique development in Northern Ireland and has been designed to showcase how we can set and achieve the highest possible standards for customers.
"The recognition of our work has galvanised our team and our customers who share in our efforts and rewards. We are excited to be named among the very best construction projects in the UK and hope to bring home good news in August."
