The first phase of work to install a high voltage underground cable near Omagh is to begin on Monday, 25 July.
Northern Ireland Electricity Networks (NIE Networks) said the scheme involves installing a 110kV transmission cable along Doogary Avenue, the A5 Doogary Road and the Bankmore Road to facilitate the connection of the new substation at Gort, which is currently under construction, to NIE Networks existing Omagh Main Substation.
The first phase of work will start on Doogary Avenue and the road will remain closed for three weeks.
Diversions will be put in place.
The project will continue along the A5 Doogary Road at weekends only, beginning on Saturday, 30 July and it will be completed on 21 August. Advance warning signs will be in place to give motorists details of an alternative route during the works so they can avoid any possible delays on the A5.
The final part of the phase will be along Bankmore Road on the weekends of 27 August and 03 September.
