Work has started on a £121,000 road improvement scheme in Comber.
The Belfast Road project began on the 800 metre stretch which extends to Ballyrainey Road and is expected to be substantially completed by the first week in September.
Infrastructure Minister Chris Hazzard said it will "greatly improve" the strength and surface quality of the carriageway.
He said: "Over 11,000 vehicles use this major road every day which is a key arterial route between Comber and Belfast. Improving transport connections along our key routes while maintaining a network which is fit for purpose is a priority for the Executive. Schemes such as this, play a key part in achieving this."
