Habinteg Housing Association (Ulster) Ltd has appointed a new Chief Executive.

Mr Darren McKinney will take on the role with immediate effect and will move from his post with the Association as Director of Development. He has been part of the Habinteg team for 13 years, holding a number of roles and responsibilities including Development Officer, Maintenance and Asset Manager before his promotion to Director in 2007.

Prior to his employment with Habinteg, Mr McKinney worked in the Construction Cost Consultancy sector, extending his involvement and experience in the built environment in Northern Ireland to well over two decades.

He said: "I am delighted and honoured to be appointed the new Chief Executive of Habinteg. The housing association sector, of which Habinteg is an increasingly important element, faces continual challenges.

"I, along with my Senior Management Team and the Association Staff, will endeavour to meet these challenges, leading continuous improvement in all aspects of our work as we move into this new era. I am determined to achieve this in a positive and focused way to deliver the best outcomes for the Association's tenants, customers, stakeholders and staff."
